August has been a big month for Team Khoollect. Not only was it our first birthday (which, of course, meant loads of cake!), but we were also lucky to have a bunch of exciting guests come to visit and be featured on the site. Here, the team have picked their favourite posts from the month and tell you what made them a highlight:

Rachel Khoo, Editor-in-Chief

I loved going on one of the Surf Sistas weekends away last year. This post just makes me want to book another. This post, however, made me want to get out my jumpsuit more often. And, I’m always looking for a great new book to read, so I found this post useful too.

Sonya Gellert, Deputy Editor

I’m really lucky to meet an incredible range of people in this line of work, so choosing my favourite pieces or discoveries for the month is a big ask! Being an unashamed bookworm, I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my tips for starting a book club with the Khoollect community. On that same topic, I loved interviewing Street Library Australia and learning about their amazing community-oriented project too.

Lara Messer, Creative Editor

Without a doubt, my favourite post is the super glam party cake. Not only did I have the pleasure of photographing such a staggeringly beautiful cake, I had the extremely difficult task of eating it too. Frankie’s home is what dreams are made of, so filming her in the kitchen was also a favourite this month!

Hannah Adams, Partnerships &  Marketing Manager

I’ve now watched all of Yell Design’s stop-motion films and I think they are so fun and creative. It must take quite a lot of patience too, which I don’t have! Another post that I’ve enjoyed is the interview with Thug Kitchen. From a marketing perspective, they’ve got a consistent brand message and because of that, their community really engage with them. Their food is also right up my street!
