Our featured follower series is the chance for us to show you the outstandingly talented members of the #khoollectcommunity. They’re the small businesses, the makers, the digital stars of our community, not dictated by likes and follows but by genuine talent and an interesting story.

This week’s member is the brilliant Katie, founder and maker of Copper & Solder, and one woman band behind their beautiful Dalmation candle holders, plates and copper coffee stands. We caught up with her to find out a little bit more about her and beautiful creations.

Featured Follower: Copper & Solder.

Where in the world do you live? “Two years ago we moved from London back to my hometown, a little city called Lichfield (city, because we have a Cathedral) which is in between Derby & Birmingham.”

What do you do? “I own a small brand called Copper & Solder where I make industrial, modern homewares made from copper and concrete.”

One place you’d tell people to visit in your city/town? “Oh, wow. Lichfield is a really tiny place and there’s not much going on here, so that’s pretty hard! The Cathedral is pretty spectacular, it’s the only 3 spired medieval Cathedral in England! Our nearest larger City is Birmingham, I could suggest loads there! Bloom in Kings Heath is brilliant for food and coffee.”

What do you khoollect? “Oak magazine, I’m lucky enough to have every issue so far! Houseplants and cookbooks also at the minute.”

What’s your favourite recipe? “All things sweet! Jackson & Levine have a great brownie recipe in their book. I like to make macaroons which always go down a treat when I make them!”

What’s your favourite book? “The Kinfolk Table, it’s super inspirational, I could flick through all day, every day.”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? “Do what makes you happy, stay true to yourself and try not to compare yourself.”
