The Khoollect team has a penchant for collecting little trinkets on its travels; be it a Christmas decoration, a badge, a tea towel or even sweets. Here in London we’ve got a solid #khoollection of museums to peruse, many with fine gift shops filled with educational, recreational and intriguing gifts you won’t find in local high-street boutiques. Luckily, many of them have online stores too, so you won’t necessarily have to battle the children lining up to play with slinkies and binoculars to discover interesting presents.

Here’s a list of our favourite London-based museum gift stores:

Science Museum

Bring out the inner scientist in any recipient with the Science Museum’s range of curious collectibles. This is one seriously cool gift store. Ever wanted to bestow your loved ones with a hovercraft kit, a bag made from an actual IMAX screen, a drone or even an astronaut duvet set? Well, now you know where to find these things and more.

Natural History Museum

If you’re seeking the very thing for that dinosaur lover, gem enthusiast or nature-obsessed pal in your friendship circle, browse no further. The Natural History Museum has you sorted for all the things a natural history enthusiast could possibly wish for (other than their own pet dinosaur).

Victoria and Albert Museum

Come birthdays and Christmas, highly cultural folk can be tricky to buy for. But, no matter whether their interests lie in the music, fashion, art, film, literary or design fields, the V&A has something to please their discerning tastes.

British Library

Alright, so it’s not technically a museum (unless you think of it as a museum of books), but the British Library has a top-notch gift store filled with things book lovers will go ga-ga over. But it’s not all about the books, it also has accessories, jewelry and a bunch of fun bits and bobs.

Geffrye Museum

Have a friend with a fondness for decorative items from the past? The Geffrye Museum’s gift store is your one-stop shop for retro-centric gifts. And, if you visit in person, be sure to take a stroll through the museum’s gardens before you leave.

London Transport Museum

With a nifty range of original prints, design items, home furnishings and gifts, London Transport Museum is an ideal spot to pick up a souvenir – for London’s tourists and locals alike.
