‘Two scoops sir?’ asks the room service waiter.

‘Two? Make it three, I’m not driving’ says the adorable Kevin McAlistair in Home Alone Two.

It’s without doubt one of my favourite Christmas films. New York sparkles at this time of year, dappled with fairy lights and a sprinkling of snow seems to make the city settle a little bit amongst the chaos of taxis and people. I love the sentiment of it all, the fact that its focus is on family and friendship above all. Money, presents and possessions can feel so overwhelming this time of year when so many people have so little. Sometimes all the people in your life want is a little time with you in front of the tv just being together. I love the idea of eating this on Christmas Eve cuddled up to my best friend in front of Home Alone Two.

This sundae, in honour of Kevin is of course, three scoops. A version of a banana split this sundae is simple and classic. It’s built from your favourite vanilla ice cream, sliced bananas, peanut butter chocolate sauce and then sprinkles of smashed up chocolate bars and toasted nuts. It’s pretty incredible.
