There’s no better way to enjoy your eggs than over a lazy weekend breakfast at home. Poached, boiled, scrambled, made into an omelette, or even added raw to a fresh fruit smoothie – the early morning options are endless! Put your own little spin on things and transform the traditional into something a little more special – even the simple addition of fresh herbs and spices can make your eggs far superior.
To get you started, here are seven Khoollect tips to get the best out of your oeuf at home:
- The freshest always taste the best
Our egg-obsessed friends at Egg Break say the only way to truly test the freshness is to crack it open. If it looks good, then it’s good to eat. - Buy free-range if you can
Ethical eggs always go down easier - Fried is always the quickest
Fried eggs are the quickest and easiest dish to prepare if you’re in a hurry. Keep it healthy by using a good non-stick pan rather than lots of oil. - Don’t give up on achieving the perfect poached egg
Achieving the perfect poach can be a struggle at times. For some handy hints and tips on poaching to perfection, check out this helpful little online tutorial. - It’s easy to add a little lift to your scramble
For soft and fluffy scrambled eggs, whisk them with a little cream, salt & pepper, and cook on the lowest possible heat. Add freshly chopped herbs or chilli for a delicious twist. - Experiment with different types of eggs
There’s a huge variety available from a number of different hen breeds – or be brave and try duck or quail eggs for a change. - Invest in a gadget for separating eggs
