A place to get fit under the railway arches

There’s a unique and far-superior alternative, tucked under the arches in one of the city’s fastest developing, and un-waveringly cool, suburbs – London Fields.

Forget running around the park in your grey marl tracksuit pants, rollerblading like a wally round the high street, or doing star jumps in time with your TV-friendly 80s g-string leotard-clad instructor – this fitness studio has all the modern bases covered.

London Fields Fitness Studio is one of the friendliest workout spaces you can imagine. There’s no pretences or posing, no feeling too fat or thin, and no mucking about.

Founded in 2010 by personal trainer Sapan Sehgal, the fitness studio offers both drop-in and pay-as-you-go fitness classes in large warehouse-style workout rooms. There’s everything from indoor cycling, yoga, pilates, zumba, circuit training, boxing, booty camp, and hula-fit (plus more), to personal training sessions with one of just a handful of highly reputable fitness instructors.

Sapan’s friendly approach to working out is what seems to attract his clients. Unlike the tyrannical trainers often seen on TV, Sapan guides his clients and gently encourages them to work their absolute hardest, and to have fun while doing it.

One of the best things about London Fields Fitness Studio is it shies away from being a cookie-cutter one-stop shop that caters to only one demographic. Instead you’ll find all ages and abilities, from a diverse range of disciplines; creatives, professionals, young families, students, and the well known all refer to this as their fitness holy grail. It’s also near a host of great eateries, such as E5 Bakehouse, Lonzo, and London Fields Brewery, so if you’ve over-indulged you can head next door for a quick drop-in workout.
