My feel good food is macarons! Ever since my first trip to France I fell in love with them and whenever I’m having the “mean reds” I go for macarons at my favorite place that, funnily enough, has my name.
My Morning boiled egg and two slices of multi-seeded bread with real Butter (not something called “spreadable”), I am 70 and have eaten this “Fast Food” for the majority of my life, I am not over weight and still do 30 mins of yoga and 10 mins on my exercise bike daily.
My favourite feel-good food is a simple, delicious roast chicken, served with Lyonnaise potatoes, green beans – and a fresh, warm baguette to soak up all those lovely juices!
I love porridge made with milk (extra creamy texture) with pureed apples. Literally, time stops when I take the first mouthful of boiling hot creamy porridge and then carefully avoid getting burnt by mixing it with the cold pureed apple which is tart and cold and fresh. And then I just rush the rest because I’m always in a hurry in the mornings.

My favourite feel good meal is mussels cooked in white wine, garlic and parsley with some fresh crusty bread smothered in salted butter, all washed down with a glass of crisp white wine. It may not be the healthiest but its certainly feelgood, and I feel like I’m getting a lot of goodness from those mussels and that lovely broth!
My feel good food has to be my morning porridge made with oat milk ( I much prefer it being made with oat milk rather than regular milk), chopped up banana, cinnamon and chia seeds. I have this almost every morning as it sets me up for the day ahead and keeping me going until lunch time.
My favourite feel good food has to be Pie n Mash with liquor! little splash of chilli vinegar, served in a run down old east end restaurant, with a glass of orange juice…. Not exactly fancy but what ever the weather, or mood! It always picks me up…
My feel good food is actually a drink- a fresh mint tea with a couple of slices of apple and lemon and dried green tea leaves
My favourite feel-good food is a fried egg wrapped up in a blanket of toasted seeded bread, topped, (of course), with HP sauce. Too much flavour I cannot describe in words, and can cure any illness or hangover – so easy to make and works for breakfast or lunch! #unilife
Alas, I’m in the U.S…. but my fav comfort food is hot tapioca puding!! and watermelon, and SOUP!
It’s probably not the healthiest, but if I’m ever feeling a bit tired and emotional I follow St Delia’s Spanish Omelette recipe. It only requires an onion, a couple of potatoes, and some eggs, which I will almost always have in anyway, so none of that pesky getting dressed and going to the shops. There’s something therapeutic about finely slicing the potatoes. It cooks low and slow, and it comes out full of comforting carb goodness. Then I feel better because I’ve made something yummy, I get to eat it, and I get to share it with others and lap up the compliments. It’s a nice little ego boost for cloudy days!
It would have to be my bowl of plain Greek yogurt with banana and blueberries, scrummy, and I do not like to share it because its all mine 🙂
My feel good food has to be tofu and soba noodles, it feels virtuous but I’m in it for the sauce.
One of my favourite feel-good foods is a banana peanut butter and chocolate split! One of the best combos in the world, a snack I love any time of day and always leaves my taste buds satisfied and I feel energised 😀 xxx
My feel good food is a Vegetarian Shepherds pie made with Sweet potato mash, carrots, toms, veg stock cubes , red wine and green lentils . Since cutting out meat the one thing i missed was Shepherds pie and somehow magically this is a really good alternative
I love risotto, it’s a real feel-good food and a comfort food too – and super filling so you don’t need much. And I love watermelon to eat in slices or done in a blender with ice, cold green tea and some mint from the garden for a refreshing drink But sometimes I can’t be bothered with all the seeds so I love finding the seedless varieties in season!
Beans on wholewheat toast – with mozarella cheese, and a sprinkling of tomatoes and black olives. And garlic. Never forget the garlic….
Can’t go wrong with homemade chicken noodle soup!
