My favourite thing about Rome are the tiny little restaurants tucked down narrow, cobbled streets. In one of these hidden gems, I stumbled in, the only tourist and flustered with hunger and awkwardness at having to bumble my way through my basic Italian to ask for a table. But it’s where I first tasted authentic pumpkin ravioli with sage butter and Parmesan. So simple, yet utterly divine.
Another day, another tiny restaurant, this time in a stone paved piazza with local children playing outside till after dark. Here I sampled courgette flowers stuffed with ricotta and lightly fried to make them crisp up to fluffy yellow pillows. The flavours were out of this world.
I’ve visited Rome many times, the food keeps calling me back.

I’ve never been to Rome, but my friends and I are going to visit in Septemeber and would find this book to be very useful! I have done some research about the city recently and it seems like a wonderful place! Rome looks like a history book and we can’t wait to explore what the city has to offer and what foods to try!

How exciting you are going to Rome. Do you like cats? When I was there last summer, we discovered that there is a cat sanctuary! It’s so lovely to see all these little cats being looked after and living in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It’s called Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary – we couldn’t stop laughing at them lying sleeping on the hot rocks of an ancient Roman ruin! x
Getting ice-cream at ‘Gelateria del Teatro’. It’s the closest thing to heaven!
Love how every corner of Italy has coffee shops that tastes so divine no matter where you go!
I haven’t been in Rome, yet, but i’m so jealous about the wide influence they’ve had along the years, especially because they focused on food and the experience, the saring experience, that food can bring.
All Italy has an special “something”, sometimes when i see some tv programs I feel like in South America, somehow…probably because of the culture the colorful of the cities and the nice and warm attitude of the people.
Rome has everything to show and to be always on the bucketlist, they have history, amazing food, landscapes, rich culture, music and so on.
We have some nice places here (Perú) where we can find some good Italian dishes but i can’t tell if they are as good as the original ones I will have to travel to try and compare!I’m pretty sure is a life changing experience… 🙂

Churches in quiet crumbling courtyards that feel like secrets, with moss covered fountains and cooing doves. The crumbling majesty of the buildings, combined with how alive and bustling the city feels with markets and trattoria are what makes it feel so special.
I don’t think It’s possible to have one favourite thing about Rome. But it was the first holiday I went on with my now husband and seeing the face of a guy from country Ireland eat gelati and pizza with anchovies for the first time is an experience that’s hard to top!
2000 years ago my family was in the roman senate, so it is in my blood.
I’ve never been to Rome, but my favorite thing about the Italian capital is definitely architecture. I would be happy to eat an gelato at any staircase in the city.
I certainly ate my fairshare of Gelato when I was in Rome!
I’ve not yet been to Rome, but I dream of going to the deli and food stalls of the Testaccio market, yum!
My favorite thing about Rome is discovering new, exciting things around every corner. I’ve been to Rome once in my 20s and would love to return someday.
