Tell us, what recipe will you be sharing in the Unilever x Khoollect e-cookbook?

Chickpea Fries

What do you love about this dish; why did you choose this particular recipe?

I had a bag of gram flour sitting in my cupboard and didn’t know what to do with it. I saw a video recipe pop up online and was intrigued by how simple it seemed, so I had to give it a go myself. It’s a great recipe to prep in advance, so I love how easy it is to cook when you’re ready to eat it.

What’s your go-to weeknight meal?

I love my salmon parcels with honey, soy, ginger and garlic. I eat them with quick stir-fried ginger rice and broccoli. It’s so delicious and easy to make.

And your favourite comfort food?

My mum’s cooking. My mum makes the best curries in the world, and I’m not just saying that because she’s my mum. People come from far and wide to eat her food, because it’s that good.

What dishes will you be sharing with your nearest and dearest during the festive season?

This time of year I crave all the comfort food; I’m thinking pies and roasts. They’re hearty meals, made for sharing.

What’s your best piece of cooking advice for the novice cook?

Don’t forget or be afraid to season your food. I think people focus too much on following recipes so closely, that they don’t trust their taste buds enough. A well-seasoned dish can make or break a dining experience in my opinion.

What have you got planned for 2017?

A lot more recipes. 2016 was such a hectic year and it involved a lot of dining out. Although I don’t plan to stop that, I certainly hope to cook more at home. And I want to attempt a few challenging bakes!
