For cosy nights in, I love a Kir Breton made with cider from Brittany and cassis. It evokes memories of sunny holidays and makes me want to go back!
I love a bramble cocktail on a cosy night in. This is gin, creme de mure, lemon juice and some freshly made sugar syrup all over ice. When you get the quantities just right it is the perfect cocktail for an evening in.
PS if you fancy a longer drink you simply add a dash of soda water and you have a hedgerow sling!
Just a nice simple manhattan or mojito
I love an espresso martini, with salted caramel for extra deliciousness!
A Bahama Mama, regular rum, coconut rum, grenadine, orange juice and pineapple juice. We had it on holiday, light and refreshing.
I love a Mojito mixed by my loving husband, sitting at our bar. Bliss!
I love a nice glass of vodka martini, shaken not stirred.
I’m not sure mulled wine counts as a cocktail, so my next choice is a Mead Feast (or my own interpretation) made with mead, basil, lemon juice, honey and soda water (like a medieval mojito).
Espresso martini every time. Finishes the meal with a warm dreamy moment.
I love a whisky mac, simple & warming perfect for a cosy night in.
I love a wicked pomegranate prosecco – fresh pomegranate and bubbly on the top!
I love a rusty nail or a black russian !
As a recent convert to Christabel’s cocktails kits I would have to say a saucy flirt would be my preference!
An amaretto sour with a twist of orange and, of course, a cocktail cherry. Or two. Or three….
A fruity daiquiri always hits the spot
My ultimate Christmas/winter tipple is a Cinnamon Cranberry Whisky Sour!
To make 4 you will need the below;
2 cups fresh cranberries
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
3/4 cup whiskey (I like the Haig Club for this!)
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lime juice
Pop the sugar, cinnamon sticks, water and cranberries in a pan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow to simmer for 10 mins then let cool completely before straining. Mix the rest of the ingredients together then add the cranberry syrup. Serve over ice and garnish with more cranberries and a cinnamon stick.
Has to be a negroni!
An Elderflower Breeze is lovely and fresh! Vodka, apple juice, Sauvignon Blanc and elderflower liquor. Although, I would happily sip a Silent Pool gin and tonic with lime!
Cosy nights in! Has to be a whisky Mac. A simple cocktail of whisky and ginger wine- the perfect drink to snuggle and cosy up.
For something festive I make a big pot of hot buttered rum – very warming and very popular! 🙂
Vesper Martini…shaken, not stirred (obviously)!
1 part Vodka
1 part Gin (Tanqueray 10 is my preference)
1 part Dry Vermouth (in particular Lillet Blanc)
I love Patrón XO Cafe tequila liqueur on the rocks, sipped slowly whilst under a big blanket. Heavenly.
