I Love seeds…. in yogurts, salads, pasta dishes. I’m trying to bring these to france as I live there today. I also love butternut squash a hugely versatile vegetable which adds tons of flavour, my favour recipe is a vegetarian pie created with a butternut squash filling! Topped with sweet potato, delish!
A simple choice for me , it’s a slice of toast with butter and lots of raspberry jam, having this will always cheer me up.

Greek salad! Reminds me of sitting happily in the shade on some Greek island, with family and friends. So refreshing and delicious!
Sticky chicken!!!
The sticky and sweet sauce on it is absolutely incredible. It is made with a delicious sauce of soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet chili sauce, brown sugar and a squeeze of a fresh lime. Don’t all of those flavors combined sound amazing? I love how thick and sticky the sauce is glazed over the chicken, and the very best part… it is ready in just 30 minutes. So you are able to bring a delicious asian inspired meal to your family in no time at all!

Ratatouille – it reminds me my happy time spend in Corse (France) and long evenings with my friends and beautiful food eaten outdoors.
Chocolate, preferably dark chocolate, makes me happy. It’s engraved in my name 😉 The word Anandamide is derived from the Sanskrit word ananda, which means bliss.
“Anandamide produces a feeling of euphoria. This compound may account for why some people become blissed-out when they eat chocolate. The human brain is a marvellous and mysterious organ. Tickle the right neurons with delicious chocolate, and all heaven breaks loose.” citing the Health Chocoholic http://www.healthchocoholic.com/2017/08/22/why-does-chocolate-make-me-feel-happy-all-the-time/
Best wishes,
Anand

Hello,
I love the peaches, not any peaches, but the ones with a red flesh. The ripe , juicy, white with a red interior peaches. The peaches that make your lips ‘bleed’ with the red juice. The peaches that I only seen and tasted in my grandfather’s yard. They were joy and summer. They were love and friendship. They were the most brilliant peaches!
I still look for them, but I have not found them yet and the peach tree is long gone.
I love pancakes with mango and raspberry they are just so versatile and tasty, i also love maple syrup, nut butter, dates and cacao powder and together they are just yummy xx

Dessert makes me happy, it is always the best way to end a meal!!!!
Bara Chirashi Don is just a rainbow of sashimi delight in a bowl! A nod to the Japanese culture of graciousness, I’m always thankful for every bite of the chirashi don – to the fishermen who risk their lives at sea to bring the bounty in, the fish wholesalers who cherish the value of the fish, the sushi chefs who take pride in their craft. I cannot be more joyful whenever I have it for lunch because I can’t help but feel fortunate.
Chinese pineapple buns. Reminds me of many trips to HK as a child and eating them fresh – so yum!

Fresh bread is my absolute favorite thing! Nothing is better than spending an afternoon making dough, smelling all the wonderful smells, and then getting to eat a nice crusty bread :).
Beautiful toast with olive oil and sea salt . Everything s going to be o.k when the smell of this comforting treat wafts about and makes a home smell like good is happening !
But yeah, also divine wood fired margherita pizza and linguine vongole .
fajitas and oysters with crisp sauvigon blanc are pretty swell too !
Chocolate, chocolate cake and anything chocolate. It’s sweet and so delightful, every bite is a piece of happiness. I used to be a desperate chocoholic, now I try to stick to healthier homemade alternatives – a mixture of cacao, raw honey and coconut oil would make the perfect dessert, and I love chocolate avocado mousse. 🙂
Hi, the ultimate food that would always make me happy is Doughnut!.. it could be sweet or savory, any king of doughnut, to be honest. and I like making them too!
It has to be toast. Whenever people ask me what my favourite food is, I always answer ‘toast’. It’s great in the morning with a range of toppings; in the middle of the day when you just can’t decide what to have; and an absolute pick me up when feeling a bit sad or poorly (especially with a cuppa!) Even better, I can share toast with my little girl now she’s beginning to eat solid food!
Perfectly ripe mangoes are my happy food. The orange flesh is so cheerful. My favorite ones are so juicy I eat them out of hand whilst standing over the sink to catch all the juicy drips. My pup actually loves mango too.
Dippy eggs which me and my family have always called Boogie egg. It always seems to solve every problem and when things get tough boogie egg with plenty of soldiers and a cup of tea never fail to cheer me up. (Followed by more toast and marmalade obviously!)
Pies make me happy. They taste better after all the work of making a good crust and cooking down fruit for a really filled pie.
Cakes and cookies, because sweet is the shortest way to happiness 🙂
Calamari! Crispy and decadent when dipped in aioli. Reminds me of sitting in the beach with my parents. We would eat left over calamari from the night before as a picnic on the beach.
I’m getting more into vegetarian meals even though I’m not a vegetarian yet. So i think I’d choose a nice vegetable chilli with lots of chunky sweet potatoes and peppers in it!
I love all roasted veggies, soup and most comfort food when its cold, dark and I don’t have to go out!
Chicken curry with steamed rice makes me happy, and pretty little cupcakes and a cup of tea.

Everything about Sunday lunch including my childhood memories. Now, I still love it all. Although, I usually cook a simple roast chicken, I love the preparation, the table laying, the scrumptious food and the relaxed chatter and sharing with my little family. Special times.
Tea and Toast. Real salted butter, gorgeous bread, sourdough from the bakery near me.
No matter what has happened in a day, tea and toast is the most comforting combination, like a blanket round your shoulders and a big hug. Xx
An oven roasted or smoked whole chicken makes me happy. I use it as a base for many other dishes, Chicken Tacos, Chicken Enchiladas, Chicken Toquitos, Chicken Soup and the list goes on. I can feed my wife and myself many meals on just one whole chicken. It makes my wallet happy also.
A good Apple Strudel will always put a smile on my face also.
Greens all greens make me happy!! I also adore coconut macaroons dipped in dark orange chocolate!

Chip-shop chips make me happy. Hot, crispy, fluffy, and comforting. What’s not to love?!
It’s the simple things that make me happy and turn a smile on my face. I don’t need much and I embrace the beauty of the moment. The food that makes me happy, at any time of day, is a slice of whole wheat bread (toasted or not) with good quality butter. Sometimes a put a bit of apricot or strawberry jam on top, but most of the times I don’t think it needs it ;). Accompanied with a nice big cup of tea and I am happy. I wish the whole team of Khoollect a nice winters day !
Cooking something warming that smells delicious
Butternut squash, for its versatility, colour and flavour

Hi Rachel,
The food that makes me most happy is a Chinese chicken congee, it has the comfort of a chicken soup, my mum use to make it for me when I was ill or lost my appetite. I felt my mum’s love when I ate it as a child.
I am a mother now and I make it occasionally for my four year old daughter and I. My daughter Mae, squeals with delight and shouts ‘yes’ when I make chicken congee for her, she loves it. It’s very cute and makes me very happy 🙂
Thanks
Wincy
I love a slice of Victoria sandwich cake on a Sunday afternoon with a lovely cup of tea! My idea of heaven. X
