Movie lovers, listen up! We’ve selected our top six, most highly-anticipated watches at the box office for the year ahead. Action, big kid thrills, comedy and romance – we’ve got all bases of the movies covered.

1. Hail Caesar

There’s not much about this Coen Brothers‘ film to curb your enthusiasm. If you like the glitz and glamour of indulgent big-budget spectacles (think The Great Gatsby), have a penchant for vintage styling, and the offbeat humour the Coen’s do so well, then this is one to add to your list of 2016 must-sees. Steer clear if you don’t like pretty things – two-plus hours of ogling Scarlett Johansson and George Clooney could be taxing for some.

2. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

The queen of American comedy Tina Fey takes to the big screen in this Tropic Thunder-esque story of a bungling female reporter trying to get her big break in the Middle East. Serious subject matter made palatable in an hilarious, non-cringey way.

3. The BFG

It’ll be the parents dragging the kids to the cinema to watch this Roald Dahl classic storybook come to life. Reminiscent of the cult hit E.T., this Steven Spielberg film is sure to capture the heart of the young and old alike, and captivate imaginations for generations to come.

4. Fantastic beasts and where to find them

Harry Potter fans brace yourself. England’s golden boy Eddie Redmayne stars in JK Rowling‘s intriguing tale of magic, wizardry, and fantasy beasts. Sure to be a true spectacle worth waiting til late 2016 to see.

5. The Big Short

It’s barely possible to contain our excitement over this one. An all-star cast of some of America’s best male actors tackle a film based on subject matter that could have you yawning: four high-finance gurus predict a major credit collapse and take on the banks for their lack of foresight. Stop mid-yawn. This one features Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell.

6. Zoolander 2

Fifteen years after the original film, Derek and Hansel finally return to the big screen in one of 2016’s most highly anticipated comedies. If you liked the first film, and can still remember it after all these years, then this is one to add to your own ‘watch’ list. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson at their best.

These are just a handful of exciting movies trailers released in anticipation of their upcoming release. We’ve got tens of movies high on our watch-list for 2016, including the new Ghostbusters, Love and Friendship, Bourne 5Florence Foster Jenkins, just to name a few.
