Letter from the Editor-in-Chief: Hello September

***Rachel Khoo would like to thank all the inspiring people who helped make the Khoollect studio a hive of creativity. Although the Khoollect studio’s doors have now closed, you can keep up with Rachel’s newest adventures on RachelKhoo.com and on Rachel’s Instagram and Facebook pages – and, continue to enjoy the Khoollect website’s stories and recipes, which will remain available.***

September is one of my favourite months of the year, even though we have to say goodbye to summer, holiday and ice-cream, (well maybe not in my case: everyday is an ice-cream day, come rain or shine) it brings a new lease of energy and promise of exciting projects.

When I lived in Paris, the start of September marked the return of Parisians and the city would awake once again with hustle and bustle. Cafes would have their chairs outside and bakeries would remove their ‘vacances’ (on holiday) sign. A sigh of relief that good baguettes and watching the world go by could once again resume in the city of light.

Being motivated after spending your summer holidays soaking up sunshine might not be the easiest thing to do, so we’re asking you, our Khoollectors, to suggest some musical tunes to get us moving! We’ll add your suggestion to the Khoollect active playlist if gets the team busting a move from behind our desks.

I personally always love a little bit of Missy…

The back-to-work buzz always has me searching for stationery inspiration. This would very much sum up my current state of diary. You can’t beat a fancy pen to feel like a person on a mission. My love for paper and food seems to have been turned into my next dream job: PAPERMEALS. It’s certainly a calorie-light way of being creative with food!

The editorial team are used to me being on the road and hardly at Khoollect HQ. You could say I run a mobile business just missing the fitting vehicle like these guys. It’s not just ice cream vans and food trucks who are tapping into mobile element there are plenty more creatives on the road. With my new love of vinyl I’m hoping that one of our favourite mobile businesses set their anchor in my local canal.

Keep your eyes peeled this month for plenty more everyday escapism and from the team and I.

Until then, we always love hearing from you: whether it’s through our social media channels, forum, on the website or if you fancy sending a pigeon.
