Oscar Wilde once said, ‘Everything in moderation, including moderation.’ This is an ethos that the Khoollect team is more than happy to align itself with. Although we’re mostly well-behaved when it comes to our mid-week snacking (think rice cakes, nut spreads and fruit), those who took a peek inside the Khoollect team’s lunch boxes will see that we’re pretty serious about our workplace provisions. When things get busy, we’re frequently fueled by coffee and tea — but, sometimes we need some not-so-healthy snacks on hand at Khoollect HQ to get us by too.

Here’s our favourite guilty pleasures, for times when cravings strike:

Chocolate Break

Editor-in-Chief, Rachel Khoo

My guilty pleasure is salt and vinegar crisps — the cheap kind. They’re the first thing I would buy when I stepped off the train, from Paris, when I arrived in London. No country does crisps better than England. I’m also fond of a custard cream biscuit with a cup of tea.

Creative Editor, Lara Messer

Twiglets are without a doubt my guilty pleasure. I end up with orange fingers, because I’ll eat the entire box! I’m newly vegan, so discovering these are still an option is really exciting for me.

Deputy Editor, Sonya Gellert

I’m a shameless popcorn fiend, be it the gourmet or not-so-fancy varieties. I am especially partial to a sweet-and-salty combination, which crushes both my sweet and savoury cravings in one hit. Efficient! And it’s mostly air anyway, right?

Contributor, Rhia Chohan

My motto is, ‘when in doubt, add cheese.’ If I’m feeling particularly peckish, I’ll devour a Daim chocolate bar or ginger biscuits, accompanied by a cup of tea. But mostly cheese.

Content Coordinator, Bex Shannon

Chocolate, all the way. I’m all about the KitKat. Especially the UK version. Actually, I enjoy UK’s chocolate offerings in general. I find the chocolates in New Zealand generally contain more oil and less cream because of the hotter summer temperatures here (and in Australia).

CUSTARD CREAMS. I’m not allowed to buy those anymore because I’ll devour the whole packaging in a sitting. :X
