There are some foods that we’ll never share, here at Khoollect HQ. Desserts, for instance, is where we need to draw a line. And if you don’t order your own basket of chips, don’t expect to pick at ours. But, there are times when a shared meal is the very thing to pair with a carafe of wine and some top-notch banter. So, when we are in a sharing mood (and would like an excuse to try more of the menu) these are our favourite places to visit in London (in no particular order):
- Poco, Broadway Market
Winning awards for its impressive commitment to sustainable practices, Poco is a restaurant that knows how to use flavours. With Tom Hunt at the helm, things can only go right. - Berber & Q’s Shawarma Bar, Exmouth Market
Just try to resist ordering every mezze on the menu at his popular joint. Share a little of everything and dazzle your taste buds with delightfully smoky plates of goodness. - Chinese Laundry, Islington
Sitting pretty in pink on Upper Street Islington, Chinese Laundry serves up a tantalising selection of dishes full of life, and spice. (They’re re-opening in May 2017, so pencil them in your diaries until then!) - The Barbery, Seven Dials
Wedged in the cosy nook of London that is Neil’s Yard, The Barbery is the sister restaurant to The Palomar, which really tells you everything you need to know. Delish! - Dishoom, various locations
In a gorgeously decked-out mid-century themed setting, Indian delights are served en masse at Dishoom. We particularly love the Carnaby Street locale for its visual appeal. - Breddos Tacos, Clerkenwell
Colour is piled on the plates at this taqueria in the heart of Clerkenwell. You’ll want to try one of everything, and then chase its food truck around London too. - Honey & Co, Bloomsbury
This cosy dining destination is ideal for dates. Middle Eastern tastes are given a modern twist. Note: the fun tile pattern on the floor is a bonus for Instagram lovers. - Ottolenghi, various locations
The name Ottolenghi is synonymous with wonderful dining experiences. His restaurants are a vegetable lover’s haven and present perfect sharing selections. - Ping Pong, various locations
For a fun evening of dim sum with friends, search no further than this well-loved chain. - Morito, Clerkenwell
Oh boy, the share plates at Morito will have you testing friendships as you dive for the last morsel of each dish. Even simple vegetables are given new life at this casual yet elegant eatery.
