Sri Lanka is on my bucket list so this book looks really interesting… I love adding garlic, onion, chilli & coriander to almost everything!
Ras-el-hanout!
My go-to ingredient is garlic, I am always using it in a starter or main, and whether I am making a British Roast, Fish&Garlic chips or when I’m making a curry (Indian, Indonesian, Thai, Burmese curry)! I use it for my daily cooking.
Herbamare!!
Definitely lemon, a squueze over most of my dishes always makes me happier!
Being a Srilankan, it has to be curry leaves!
I was born in Sri Lanka, what more do I have to say?
My family favorite go to ingredient has got to be Garlic. Small but mighty
I add a little bit of marmite to add flavour when making a tomato sauce 🙂
Currently I am trying to add spice to the cooking. I have some spices, but not too much bravery. But a pinch here and spread there and I am learning slowly, but need some guideance.
Lemon – adds instant sunshine & freshness to salads. Also great in bringing out the heat of spicy dishes.
Fresh coconut and yogurt dip.
My go to ingredient is Cinnamon (beer, coffee, toast) in the winter and Rosemary (Gin&Tonic, salads) in the summer. Would love to go to Sri Lanka one day 🙂
My special homemade garam masala is always on hand 🙂
Herbs such as parsley or a simple squeeze of lemon juice can add so much flavour!
