Letter from the Editor-in-Chief: Hello November

Hello Khoollectors,

November: the days of gloom are enclosing and the climate starts resembling that of a good summer in the North Kingdom of Game of Thrones. Or, you could say, it’s the perfect weather to practice the Danish art of ‘hygge’. Delving into the realm of cosiness and all things hygge seemed quite fitting on Khoollect this month with the chilly weather and the recent influx of books and studies on the topic.

So this month we’re putting on our PJs and getting back into bed. But before you pull the duvet over your head, there are plenty of things that we’re exploring this month that won’t require you to do anything more than a click or a tap.

After extensive research and putting the hygge principles into practice, the team and I feel that we have got it down to a fine art. We’ve discussed what hygge means to us, and how we create the perfect ambience at home. Thank you to Khoollector Carina, Laura, Regula and the rest of you who suggested your ideal hygge scenarios in the forum. Next month we’ll be talking all things celebratory, and we want to know your seasonal tips. Share your ideas with us.

Duvet days aside, we’ll be sharing a bunch of warming food and drink recipes throughout November, reading suggestions to prepare you for the beginning of winter (next month!), cosy playlists, DIY home projects, wonderful giveaways and plenty of other stories to induce that cosy feeling.
